Peak Leaf Season
The best time to observe the peak leaf season in the Smoky Mountains is any time from mid-October to early November. Mid to lower elevations begin to showcase their spectacular color display with many species including sugar maple, scarlet oak, Sweetgum, red maple, and the hickories. One of the best places in Gatlinburg to get a great view of the changing colors is at the Anakeesta Theme Park. Situated 600 feet above Gatlinburg, this is a great place to observe the beauty of the Smoky Mountains!
